08/02/2017 - Baseball Factory National World Series at Pirate City - Session 2 (Ages 14-18) Brian is a hardworking SS/RHP prospect who has a versatile skill set and graduates in 2018. As a left-handed hitter, Brian has a tall, open setup with his weight in the front of his stance. He has fluid rhythm with a smooth load and square, long stride. He has a strong lower half and uses it throughout his swing. Brian has a long swing path and shows some barrel accuracy. He has the ability to spray the ball to all fields. In the field, Brian plays with active footwork and agile actions taking the correct angles to cover good ground. He fields the ball athletically and makes the routine plays. He has a clean exchange and throws from a high 3/4 arm slot. He plays with good momentum through the baseball showing strong, accurate throws across the diamond. On the mound, Brian has a balanced, on-time delivery throwing from a 3/4 arm slot. He keeps his eyes on his target and has an effective front side. Brian stays square to home plate with a controlled landing at the proper stride length. His fastball has sink and tail action. Brian also features a deceptive changeup with movement and medium breaking curveball. Overall, Brian plays the game the right and can impact the game in multiple areas giving him a bright future on the diamond.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
