He maintains arm speed on his changeup with arm side run. Off speed stuff show potential as being quality pitches. At the plate, he shows a closed setup. Hands are quick (83 mph exit velocity) and work through an aggressive swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields through a line drive approach. Power will increase as he utilizes his lower half more efficiently. At 1B, he displays smooth/fluid actions. He displays proper footwork around the bag and is a quality receiver. Hands are firm and presents out front. Range will increase as he improves foot quickness. We look forward to seeing what the future holds for Brian as he enters his sophomore baseball season.

03/26/2023 - National Showcase - Marlborough (Boston), MA Brian is a 2026 RHP/1B prospect from Merrimack, NH. At first, he shows off efficient feet and covers ground to all angles. He's a raw athlete that makes all of the routine plays. His exchange is clean and he makes accurate throws to his targets. He has solid bag awareness. At the plate, he starts with a closed stance and gets a good load. He has good intent and a smooth rhythm with his swing. He works hard to stay through the baseball and to get more out of his lower half. On the mound, Brian throws from a high 3/4 arm angle. He gathers his balance over the rubber and stays squared with his stride to the plate. He has good rhythm and works quick on the mound with an easily repeatable delivery. He works hard to get a good leg drive and extension on his delivery. Threw strikes with all of his offerings. Excited to see Brian with 3+ more years of high school remaining!

01/13/2023 - 2023 Baseball Factory Rookie Pre-Season All-America Tournament Brian is a 2026 RHP/1B out of Merrimack, NH who showcased his skills during the BF Rookie PSAA Tournament. At 1B, he works to center the ball and make routine plays. Does a good job of keeping balls in front of him and fielding out front with soft hands. He made throws across the diamond from a high 3/4 arm slot. On the mound, he has long levers and a projectible frame. He works with good direction down the mound and his pitches change planes. Attacks hitters with a FB topping out at 69mph with signs of command, an 11/5 shaped breaking ball with tight spin, and a changeup. He struck out 5 during his outing. At the plate, he sets up in an upright and closed stance with high hands. Rotates his core to contact point and showed good balance in his swing. He hit line drives to all fields with a bat exit velocity up to 75mph. During the live games, he reached base 5 times with 2 singles, and 3 base on balls. Overall, Brian is a good 2-way player who has the potential to further build upon his skills on the field.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
