03/10/2013 - College PREP - Indianapolis, IN Brice is a young, tall, and athletic LHP/1B that will graduate in 2016. At 1B, feet are active as he works to square balls up, plays through and displays clean hands. He shows proper footwork around the bag and is a quality receiver. He needs to improve foot speed and present hands more out front to continue to improve defensive grade. Throws are accurate with carry but will benefit to build more arm strength through a long toss program. At the plate, Nobles shows a solid, athletic setup. Hands are quick, flashing bat speed and work through a level swing path. He has strength in his swing with the baseball exploding off his bat when centered, mainly to the pull side. For hitting grades to continue to improve, he needs to work to stay inside the ball to utilize all fields. On the mound, fastball shows a range of 76-79 mph on a slight downhill plane. Breaking ball displays 1/7 shape with slight, early break. He maintains arm speed on his changeup, showing a feel for. Command / control are a plus as he throws strikes with all his pitches. Stock on the mound will rise as more arm strength is developed and improves off speed pitches. With 3 years to further develop, Brice has the makings to be a special type player as he continues to improve, possibly a two-way player.
