12/27/2024 - Baseball Factory East Coast Winter Classic (MS) Bricen continues to stand out at the plate, showcasing solid power potential through his athletic setup and quick hands that work through a level swing path. He stays inside the ball effectively, driving it to all fields with a line-drive approach. As he better incorporates his lower half, his power will only grow. At third base, Bricen moves with smooth, fluid actions, demonstrating proper footwork and attacking balls as he plays through with his body. Although his glove action is firm, presenting it more out front will further refine his defense. With improved foot quickness, his range will increase, and building arm strength through a long toss program will enhance his already accurate throws. Bricen’s mental makeup stands out—he is very coachable and puts in the effort to become the best player he can be.

10/25/2024 - All-Ripken Games - Broussard, LA Bricen's Performance at the All-Ripken Event (Broussard, LA) Bricen delivered a standout performance at the All-Ripken event, showcasing his well-rounded abilities on both sides of the ball. On the mound for Team Guardians, he featured a strong two-pitch mix with excellent command in the strike zone. His mechanics were smooth and balanced, allowing him to generate deception that made it challenging for hitters to pick up the ball out of his hand. His ability to consistently locate pitches and keep hitters off balance made him an effective presence on the mound. Defensively, Bricen displayed impressive lateral range, making sharp, athletic movements to get to the ball. His strong arm allowed him to make accurate, on-target throws, contributing to his team's defensive success. At the plate, Bricen proved his ability to come through in key moments, including a clutch grand slam that highlighted his power and composure in high-pressure situations. His ability to produce timely hits underscored his potential as a player who can deliver when it matters most.

06/08/2024 - BF Evaluation Experience at Pigeon Forge Bricen is a solid 3B who has a promising future on the diamond. At 3B, he displays smooth / fluid actions. Feet are active as he works to square ground balls up but needs to play through with his body. Glove action is firm but needs to present more out front. Range will increase as he improves foot quickness. Throws are accurate, flashing carry but will benefit by building more arm strength through a long toss program. At the plate, he continues to shine through a squared setup. Hands are quick and work through an aggressive swing path. He makes consistent contact through a line drive approach with power showing best to the pull side. Lower half works well through the swing with an aggressive hip turn. With 6 years to further develop, Brican has potential with time and room to progress his game.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
