12/27/2010 - Christmas Camp and Tournament 2010 - Session 2 White showed some improvements on the mound and at the plate since his last workout in Indianapolis. On the hill, Bricen has good balance, proper separation, and he throws strikes. His FB touched 78 MPH at the event, and he mixed in his off-speed pitches well. In the OF, Bricen takes decent angles to the ball and he makes the routine plays. He has average arm strength and throws with accuracy to his target. At the plate, Bricen showed the ability to track the ball well and find the barrel of the bat. He improved both his hitting and power grades, and he swings an aggressive bat.

09/05/2010 - College PREP - Plainfield, IN Bricen is a young, thin, RHP that will graduate in 2012. On the mound, Bricen has some arm speed and a FB that touches 81 MPH. He is around the zone with his pitches and he looks the part in the mound. Bricen needs to improve his extension, off-speed pitches, and mechanics in order to get better. Offensively, Bricen has a line drive swing and he puts the ball in play. He can hit the ball the other way and shows decent bat speed. If Bricen can improve his set-up, add strength, and strength his backside, offensive grades can further improve.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
