08/26/2023 - National Showcase - Spokane, WA Brody has developed nicely since we last saw him in late 2021. His overall athleticism really shines through in all he does on the diamond. As a shortstop, he has an explosive first step and gets to every baseball displaying proper glove extension and accuracy on his throws. In addition, he will get dirty and stick his nose in the baseball when needed. Behind the dish, technique is far advanced for a 2028 graduate. Exchange from glove to hand is quick and crisp with pop times as low as 2.47 seconds. Blocking technique is a plus with proper down angle with chest deadening every ball in the dirt. At the plate, he gets his hips through and has a level swing resulting in consistent line-drive power as high as 72mph off the barrel. Chapman is one to watch in the coming years.

12/27/2021 - Baseball Factory West Coast Winter Classic Brody is a SS/RHP in the class of 2028. Defensively, Brody shows active feet and centers the baseball. He plays low to the ground and has solid glove presentation. His exchanges are clean and quick with loose arm action. His throws are consistent and online to his target. On the mound, he is a strike thrower with a 2 pitch mix out of the stretch. His FB topped out at 65 and his CB had a 9/3 spin shape. He has clean mechanics that are repeatable. At the plate, he made consistent contact. He has a short stride and is on time to square up the baseball. Once he learns proper hand separation in the load, his power will increase. Brody impressed the staff with his ability to make adjustments and it is a good sign for things to come for this potential star.

11/11/2021 - Baseball Factory Select Training & Competition in Arizona Brody is a SS/RHP in the class of 2028 out of Washington. At SS, he had a solid prep step with athletic footwork which allowed him to cover ground while presenting the glove out front and make the routine and tough plays. Offensively, he has a relaxed set up with a controlled load which helps him get on plane with his swing and make consistent line drive contact. On the mound, he displayed the willingness to compete and did a good job gathering over the rubber to create balance in his mechanics. Brody is an athlete who has solid fundamentals and we believe if he continues to work hard will be a promising prospect in the future.

08/13/2021 - All-In Membership - Billings, MT Brody is a SS/OF prospect who will graduate in 2028. In the field, Brody shows active footwork and covers ground well. He gets into a low position and fields the ball out in front of his body. His exchange is quick and he gains ground well on his throws, keeping them on-line to his target. At the plate, this RHH sets up in an open stance and takes his stride on time. He is smooth to load and leads well with his lower half. He works through a direct swing and produces loud line drives. With seven more years to develop, Brody has the time and potential to further build upon his skills on the field.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
