05/29/2021 - 2021 BF National Florida Showcase Brody certainly presents a wow factory when you watch him on the field. He pulls off the difficult C/P 2-way combination thanks to high-level tools and competitiveness. His 6'5" frame is lean and athletic as evidenced by the 6.95 time he ran in the 60 and the way he moves behind the plate. Brody has big arm strength that shows in his 1.95 time to 2B in the workout and his 94 mph fastball in the game. He has leverage power at the plate with 97 mph exit velocity and intent in his swing. Defensively he shows flexibility despite the large frame and has the toughness you look for in the position. Brody employs the aggressive style you would expect on the mound attacking hitters with his lively fastball and mixing in a tight, short slider and developing change. He has an upright finish with a reliever type of look, but there is no doubt that this young player can help you win in a lot of ways.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
