Official Scouting Report

  • C/RHPPosition Projection

11/10/2022 - Baseball Factory Select Training & Competition in Arizona (Ages 12-14) Brody is an athletic catcher out of North Wales, PA who will graduate in 2029. Behind the dish, he presents a soft/sure mitt showing pocket awareness sticking pitches. He uses his body through the blocking process but needs to work to get body down sooner. Pop times showed in the 3.42 range. Times will continue to drop as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program. At the plate, he shows as a switch hitter with similar abilities from both sides. Hands are quick and work through an aggressive swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields through a line drive approach. Lower half works well through the swing with an aggressive hip turn. With 7 years to further develop, Brody has potential with time and room to progress his game.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
