08/04/2016 - Baseball Factory Pro Select Training & Tournament at Historic Dodgertown Bryce is a 2018 LHP/1B prospect with a projectable body. He is a slick fielding 1B who can pick it and with range to both sides. His footwork is fluid, with no wasted movement to field and he fields the ball in an athletic position. His exchange is clean and quick to throw accurately from multiple arm slots to his target. This kid has good rhythm at the dish, with active hands to get loaded to a power position. He las a level swing and stays inside the ball well to hit pitches where they are thrown. Shortening his swing path will allow him to stay back longer to hit off speed pitches and catch up to plus velocity. On the mound Bryce shows a three pitch mix with his fastball having good arm side run. Breaking ball ranges form 61-65mph with late 2-8 movement. Changeup sits from 68-69 mph as he throws with fastball arm speed. We look forward to watching Bryce continue to progress.

04/10/2016 - College PREP - Waterford Township (Detroit), MI Bryce has really improved his baseball abilities since the last time that we saw him. He shows a promising future on the diamond. Hitting/power potential have really improved through a closed, athletic setup. Hands are aggressive and work through a level swing path. He shows a feel for the barrel and makes consistent hard contact, mainly to the pull side. Power will continue to increase as he creates more extension through contact with barrel/hands. At 1B, defensive grade has really improved, displaying smooth/fluid actions. He displays proper footwork around the bag and is a quality receiver. Hands are soft/sure and presents well out front. Continuing to improve foot quickness will aid in increasing range. On the mound, arm strength has improved as he threw his top velocity to date at 76 mph. Fastball showed a range of 72-76 mph with cutting action. Changeup is best off speed pitch as he maintains arm speed and shows a feel for pitch with sinking action. Breaking ball displays 1/7 shape with gradual break. Gaining more arm strength through a long toss program will aid in further development on mound.

07/11/2015 - Cape Cod Select Training & Competition - Session 1 Bryce showed as both a LHP/1B at the Cape Cod Select Training and Competition with Baseball Factory. Defensively, he worked from the ground up and made plays with a soft glove. He had easy smooth actions, and showed a good idea of the position. Offensively, he was athletic, balanced, and hit off a stiff front side. He worked his lower half to whip the barrel through the zone, but could boost consistency with his fluidity. On the mound, he threw his FB from 67-71 with tail, spun a 3/9 CB, and had a good tempo pitch to pitch. He worked downhill, and was very competitive when he stayed directional to the dish. In all - Bryce is a hard worker that showed good passion and work ethic through some nagging knee injuries.

05/03/2015 - College PREP - Adrian (Detroit), MI Bryce displayed his best ability to date in his most recent Baseball Factory outing. Defensively at 1B, he made plays with a sure glove and was consistent to get into his fielding position. He had a clean arm stroke to throw and threw from multiple slots with accuracy. Quickening his feet and coming to get his hops will help boost fielding percentage. Offensively, he showed a spray approach and rotated his core to generate bat speed. He carries his hands rather low currently, and engages them, but should be cautious of the big move as he continues to face better competition. On the hill, he threw his FB from 70-71, spun a 1/7 CB from 55-58, and showed feel for a sinking CH. His off-speed stuff was impressive for a freshman and with greater arm speed and strength through a throwing program will boost all pitching numbers. In all - Bryce is an intriguing player with a lot of upside as he begins to fill his L/L frame.

07/25/2014 - Baseball Factory National World Series at Pirate City Bryce is a two way player at LHP/1B. On the mound he has a projectable frame, good balance point and has a good athletic setup, especially in the stretch. Areas he can improve are with his stride direction and arm extension with his finish. Defensively, he has a very good fielding position and approach to the ball while staying low and has good carry with his throws. Improving his picking ability and footwork around the bag will help Bryce take the next step as a first baseman. At the plate, Bryce competes in each AB, shows the ability to have good pop as he matures and has a pretty good approach. Striding more square and relying more on his lower half and core for balance are areas he can improve. Bryce is a nice kid and a good teammate!

05/04/2014 - Interactive Video Program - Adrian (Detroit), MI Bryce is a 2-way player (LHP/1B) who has some pop at the plate. Offensively, this LHH shows a well balanced approach with good rhythm. He gets back into a strong loaded position and swings on a level path, creating extension through contact. At 1B, he shows good pre-pitch footwork and tracks the ball into his glove. He fields it with soft hands, and shows good bag awareness. On the bump, Bryce maintains smooth rhythm and has on-time separation. He works in-line and downhill toward the dish. FB ranges from 60-63 mph and is thrown for strikes. Changeup is best off-speed pitch as it shows run. Overall abilities in his game will improve with work on the following.

1. Shorten swing path
2. Lower 1/2 drive
Defense
1. Lower fielding position
2. Glove presentation
Pitching
1. Glove side lead
2. Arm strength

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
