04/16/2023 - National Showcase - Charlottesville, VA Bryce continues to show improvements in his baseball abilities. Foot speed has improved as he ran his best 60 time to date. At the plate, hitting /power potential is solid through a squared setup. Hands are quick and work through an aggressive swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields through a line drive approach. Lower half works well through the swing with an aggressive hip turn. Behind the plate he shows a squared setup and tracks the ball well with soft glove. He utilizes his body well through the blocking process but needs to work to get body down sooner. Pop times showed in the 2.18 range with accuracy / carry (83 mph velocity) on his throws. In the OF, he displays smooth / fluid actions. Feet are active as he works to get behind balls but needs to play through with momentum to his target. Range will increase as he continues to improve foot quickness.

12/20/2022 - Baseball Factory Christmas Camp & Tournament at JRTC - Session 1 Bryce is a 2026 C who showcased his skills during the BF Christmas Camp and Tournament. Behind the plate, he has an easy sit, with a relaxed posture, and has a loud mitt. Works with good direction towards second base as he replaces his feet and throws from a high 3/4 arm slot. Has a quick arm stroke as he recorded an arm velocity up to 80mph and a best pop time of 2.12 seconds. Shows a good spine angle on his blocks, with a soft chest, and tucks his chin. At the plate, he hits from a crouched and relaxed stance with loose hands. He has good rhythm to his hands and hits into a firm frontside. A compact barrel path enables him to hit balls to all fields with a bat exit velocity up to 76mph. In live game action, he reached base multiple times with a single, 2 base on balls, and was hit by a pitch. With 3 years of growth and development, we foresee Bryce making huge strides on the baseball field.

06/29/2022 - All-In Membership - Salem (Roanoke), VA Bryce is a young, solid, 2-way player with a solid skill set. Behind the plate, Bryce has active feet, firm hands, and he covers ground well. He sticks properly, centers the ball well on his body to block, and throws with accuracy and consistency after a clean exchange. A more square set-up, and blocking sooner can help catching skills improve. In the OF, Bryce has active feet, agile range, and he presents his glove well. He takes good routes and angles, his exchange is quick and clean, and he throws with accuracy and a quick release to his cut off man. Not drifting and added arm strength will help improve OF skills. Offensively, Bryce has a square/athletic stance, good balance, and he loads his hands back well. He swings in good rhythm, his barrel is short and direct, and he hits line drives. If Bryce can let the ball travel deeper and tap into more lower body, offensive numbers can get better.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
