06/06/2017 - 2017 Under Armour Showcase: Baseball Factory's National Texas Bryce is SS/RHP and shows a tremendous future on the diamond with the makings of a special type player at the next level. At the plate, hands are quick (86 mph exit velocity) as he squares the ball up consistently driving it on a line. Defensively, he takes a quick first step (7.15 60 time) and has plus lateral range. He creates angles around the GB with fluid actions. DP turns are quick with zip (90 mph velocity) on his throws. Defensive abilities are superior as he shows big play potential. On the mound, delivery is sound / repeatable as he shows good tempo through a strong balance point, allowing his arm action to work quick and free to the plate. Fastball shows a range of 84-86 mph with tailing action on a downhill plane. Breaking ball displays 10/4 shape with late break. Command / control are well above average as he locates well to both sides of the plate. With 2 years to further develop, Bryce will get looks from the top collegiate coaches with his baseball abilities.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
