06/08/2020 - Official College Recruiting Membership - Oklahoma City, OK Bryson continues to show improvements in his baseball abilities and has a promising future on the diamond. Foot speed has improved as he ran his best 60 time to date. In the OF, defensive abilities have improved, now showing solid abilities as he displays smooth / clean actions. He takes proper routes / angles in tracking down balls. He works to get behind and plays through with momentum to his target. Throws are accurate but will benefit by building more arm strength through a long toss program. At the plate, hitting / power potential has improved through a tall, closed setup. Hands are quick (81 mph exit velocity) and work through an aggressive swing path. He makes consistent hard contact through a line drive approach.

07/09/2018 - California Select Training & Competition - Session 2 (Ages 14-18) Bryson continues to show improvements in his baseball abilities. At 1B, defensive abilities have improved as he displays smooth / fluid actions. He works to square ball up and makes the routine plays. He displays proper footwork around the bag and he is a quality receiver. Range will increase as he improves foot quickness. At the plate, hitting / power potential has improved through a squared setup. Hands are quick and work through a level swing path. He shows a feel for the barrel and makes consistent hard contact through a level swing path. At the event, he was 4 for 9 with a 3B. On the mound, fastball showed a range of 57-61 mph. Breaking ball displays 11/5 shape with gradual break. Getting on a long toss program will help to increase arm strength which will aid in his development on the mound. Mental makeup is a plus as he has a positive attitude, works hard, and is very coachable.

03/25/2018 - College PREP - Oklahoma City, OK Bryson is a tall, solid 1B/RHP who will graduate in 2021. At the plate is where he shows best through a closed setup. Hands are quick and work through an aggressive swing path. He utilizes his lower half well and makes consistent through a line drive approach. At 1B, he displays smooth / clean actions. Feet are active and he displays proper footwork around the bag. Glove action is soft /sure and he presents well out front. Range will increase as he improves foot quickness. On the mound, delivery is sound / repeatable allowing his arm action to work free to the plate. Fastball showed a range of 61-66 mph. Breaking ball displays 3/9 shape with across break. He slows arm speed on his changeup, tipping off pitch to hitters. Stock on the mound will continue to rise as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program. With 3 years to further develop, Bryson has abilities with time and room to improve his baseball abilities.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
