04/22/2018 - College PREP - Louisville, KY Bryson continues to show as a prospect on the diamond. Foot speed has improved as he ran his best 60 time to date. On the bump, delivery is sound / repeatable allowing his loose, quick arm action to work well to the plate. Arm strength has improved as he threw his top velocity to date at 82 mph. Fastball showed range of 79-82 mph with arm side run. Breaking ball displays 11/5 shape with late break. He maintains arm speed on his changeup, showing a feel for pitch with arm side run. Slider displays tight spin with short break. Off speed stuff show potential as being quality pitches. Control is solid as he throws strikes with all his pitches. Stock on the mound will continue to rise as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program. At the plate, power potential is now outstanding through an athletic setup. Hands are quick (84 mph exit velocity) and work through an aggressive swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields through a line drive approach. Barrel accuracy is a plus and he has strength in his swing with gap-to-gap pop. At 3B, defensive abilities are now outstanding as he shows smooth fluid actions. He displays proper footwork in creating proper angles in attacking and playing through balls with his body. Glove action is soft / sure and presents well out front. Range will increase as he continues to improve foot quickness.

07/28/2017 - Baseball Factory National World Series at Pirate City - Session 1 (Ages 14-18) Bryson continues to show improvements in his baseball abilities and has a promising future on the diamond. Foot speed has improved as he ran his best 60 time to date. At the plate, he shows an athletic setup. Hands are quick (81 mph exit velocity) and work through an aggressive swing path. He shows a feel for the barrel and has strength in his swing through a line drive approach. At the event, he was 3 for 7. At 1B, he displays proper footwork around the bag and is a quality receiver. Hands are clean but needs to present more out front. Feet are aggressive as he attacks balls but will benefit by playing through with his body. Range will increase as he continues to improve foot quickness. On the mound, arm strength has improved as he threw his top velocity to date at 78 mph. Fastball showed a range of 77-78 mph. Breaking ball displays 10/4 shape with late break and shows potential as being a quality pitch. He maintains arm speed on his changeup and shows a feel for but drops arm slot, tipping off pitch to hitters. Control is solid as he throws strikes with all his pitches. Stock on the mound will continue to rise as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program. Mental makeup is a plus as he is makes adjustments and is a great team player.

04/09/2017 - Interactive Video Program - Louisville, KY Bryson is a broad, (5'11, 228) 1B/RHP. Defensively at 1B, he shows active footwork as he moves well laterally getting square on gb's. He has a clean/quick exchange and makes strong/accurate throws to his target. On the hill, this RHP keeps his eyes on target and delivers from a 3/4 arm slot with a loose arm action. He has a quiet delivery as he separates on time and extends through. At the plate, Bryson is an impressive power hitter. He swings with plus bat speed and explodes his lower 1/2 through as he drives pitches with hard contact. He will be one to watch given how good his bat currently is. Overall abilities in his game will improve with work on the following.

Defense
1. Develop soft hands
2. Need more range
3. Improve bag awareness
Pitching
1. Lower 1/2 drive off rubber
2. Develop CH
3. Arm strength (long toss)
Offense
1. Improve hands more

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
