06/18/2017 - College PREP - Kansas City, MO Cade is a scrappy switch hitting 2B who will graduate in 2020. At 2B, Cade has active pre-pitch movements, creates angles around the ball, has side to side mobility, and makes the routine play. If he continues to play through his backhand he will take his infield play to the next level. At the plate, Cade's swing is almost identical from both sides of the plate. He sets up in an athletic stance and takes his stride on time. He is smooth getting back into his load and leads well with his lower half. He lets the ball travel deep into the zone and attacks the inside part of the ball, getting extension through the ball. Cade can improve as a hitter by gaining more hand separation in his load. Overall, Cade is a talented, young prospect who has the time and potential to further his skills on the field.

11/12/2015 - Baseball Factory Select Training & Competition at Pirate City Cade is a special player who has a lot of upside as he continues to mature. Offensively, he is a true switch hitter proving that he can produce from both sides of the plate. His swing is simple and repeatable with the ability to use all fields. His lower half looked better this time around but he will still need to focus on letting the ball travel while keeping his body centered. In the field, Cade showed great body control with a feel to use multiple arm angles. His hands are soft and displayed proper angles. One area to keep working on is making sure that he does not flip his glove before reaching his fielding position. Overall, Cade is a great kid who shows a bright future in this game.

07/13/2015 - Interactive Video Program - Carrollton (DFW), TX Cade is a young (2020 grad) switch hitting MIF. At the plate, he shows similar abilities from both sides. He has a balanced setup with rhythm to load. Swing is level/compact as he connects and hits line-drives consistently. At 2B, Cade has quick footwork and moves well around the GB. He turns the DP quickly and makes accurate throws to 1B. Overall abilities in his game will improve with work on the following.

Offense
1. Let ball travel
2. Extension through contact
3. Lower 1/2 drive
Defense
1. Work from the ground-up
2. Avoid glove flip
3. Arm strength (long toss)

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
