11/03/2024 - National Showcase - Lebanon (Nashville), TN Cade continues to demonstrate a bright future with nota-ble improvements in his baseball skills. His foot speed has advanced, recording his best 60-yard dash time to date. At shortstop, he shows clean, smooth actions, with active feet and proper footwork that help him square up ground balls and play through them with his body. His glove work is soft and presents well out front, and he moves well laterally, creating good angles to field the ball. At the plate, he continues to excel improving both hitting and power potential through a squared setup. His quick hands work through a level swing path, staying inside the ball and using all fields with a line-drive approach. Lower half works well through the swing with an aggressive hip turn. On the mound, his arm strength has improved, reaching his highest velocity to date at 65 mph. His fastball sits in the 62-65 mph range, complemented by a breaking ball with a 10/4 shape and late break. He maintains arm speed on his cutter shows tight spin with short break. Cade’s stock on the mound will rise further as he continues to build arm strength through a long toss program.

12/27/2023 - Baseball Factory East Coast Winter Classic Cade is a 2029 SS/RHP out of Lenoir City, TN who showcased his skills during the BF East Coast Winter Classic. At SS he shows athletic actions and closes distance on batted balls. He works from right to left and fields from a low fielding position with soft hands. Made accurate throws to first base with an arm velocity up to 64mph. On the mound he has repeatable delivery and pitches ahead in the count. Does a good job of controlling the run game and fields his position. He attacks hitters with a FB that topped out at 62mph with plus command, an 11/5 shaped breaking ball, and a changeup that he throws with FB arm speed. In 3 innings of work, Cade didn't allow an earned run and punched out 3 hitters. At the plate he hits from a relaxed and open stance with loose hands. A quiet head and level eyes allow him to track pitches well. In live game action he reached base 6 times with 4 singles, a walk, and was hit by pitch. He has a great attitude with a strong desire to compete. We look forward to seeing him at another event in the near future.

08/20/2023 - National Showcase - Lebanon (Nashville), TN Cade is a RHP/SS who has a promising future on the diamond. At SS, he shows smooth/fluid actions. Hands are clean and but needs to present more out front. Range will increase as he improves foot quickness. At the plate, he shows a squared setup. Hands are quick and work through an aggressive swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields through a line drive approach. Lower half works well through an aggressive hip turn. On the mound, fastball shows range of 54-57 mph. He maintains arm speed on his changeup but slows arm speed with slight sink. Cutter has tight spin with short break. Stock on the mound will continue to rise as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program. With 6 years to further develop, Cade has potential with time and room to progress his game.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
