12/20/2016 - Baseball Factory Christmas Camp & Tournament at Pirate City - Session 1 Caden is a lean-built OF/RHP who has a solid all-around game and good potential to get better. In the outfield, Caden has solid pre-pitch actions and gets a good jump on the ball with active footwork. He takes effective angles to cover good ground and get behind the baseball. He has clean exchange leading into a loose arm action. Caden does a nice job playing through the baseball with momentum towards his target resulting in accurate throws. Offensively, Caden has a square stance with a centered balance. He takes a load with smooth rhythm and an on-time stride as he uses his lower half throughout his swing. Caden has a direct swing path with above average bat speed producing hard contact. He has a line drive approach and effectively uses all fields. On the mound, Caden has a projectable frame throwing from a high 3/4 arm slot with clean action. His delivery is balanced and on-time as he stays inline with home plate. He works downhill and has the proper stride length with a controlled landing. Caden features a fastball, curveball, and change-up. Overall, Caden is a talented athlete with the ability to continue to progress his skills on the baseball field.

11/06/2016 - College PREP - Vinton (Roanoke), VA Caden is a tall, lean 3B who has a promising future on the diamond. Foot speed is well above average as indicated by his 60 time of 7.03. At the plate is where he shows best, displaying outstanding hitting / power potential through an athletic setup. Hands are quick (83 mph exit velocity) and work to and through an aggressive swing path. He works to stay inside the ball, utilizing all fields with gap to gap pop. Barrel accuracy is a plus with the baseball exploding off the bat when centered. At 3B, feet are active as he works around balls and plays through with momentum to his target. He catches everything showing a firm glove but will benefit by presenting more out front. Range is a plus as he moves well laterally. Caden has the makings of a special type player and will get looks from the collegiate coaches with his baseball abilities.

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
