05/30/2010 - College PREP - Nashville, TN Caden is a 2B with a small, athletic body that is well suited for his position. Foot speed is solid average as indicated by his 7.34 60 time. Feet are active but needs to be more aggressive in coming to get, playing through the baseball with feet / hands. Glove action is soft, clean and sure and will play more efficient as he plays through the ball. He shows off his athletic abilities on his feeds of the double play. Throws flash carry from an over the top arm slot as he will benefit from a long toss program. Offensively, Shadrick shows a balanced approach as he flashes quick hands through a level swing path. Swing path gets long due to a bat wrap in his load and he needs to work on keeping hands inside and through the baseball at contact. Caden has abilities with a lot of room to improve.

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
