Times will continue to drop as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program. At the plate, shows a squared setup. Hands are quick and work through an aggressive swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields through a line drive approach.

01/17/2020 - 2020 Baseball Factory All-America Pre-Season Rookie Tournament Caden continues to show as a prospect on the diamond. Behind the plate, feet are active as he gains ground and works through a clean/transfer exchange as he gets rid of the baseball quickly. Pop times showed in the 2.35 range. Throws display accuracy with times continuing to drop as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program. Hands are soft as he lets the ball travel and tracks well, sticking in the zone. He shows off his athletic abilities through the blocking process, as he is a wall behind the dish. Receiving/blocking skills show as quality tools that will play well at the next level. At the plate, he continues to shine through a squared setup. Hands are quick and work through an aggressive swing path. He utilizes his lower half well and makes consistent contact through a line drive approach with power showing best to the pull side. We look forward to seeing what the future holds for Caden as he enters his freshman baseball season.

09/08/2019 - National Tryout Plus - Greenville, SC Caden continues to show improvements in his baseball abilities and has a promising future on the diamond. He did show at 3B for the first time at the event. Behind the plate, feet are active as he works in line through a clean transfer/exchange. Pop times have improved as he threw his lowest time to date at 2.35 with accuracy on his throws. Time will continue to drop as he builds more arm strength and works to get rid of the baseball quicker. He shows a squared setup and receives the ball well. He utilizes his body well through the blocking process, centering balls well out front. At 3B, feet are active as he works to square balls up. He needs to attack balls more and play through more with his body. Glove action is clean/firm but will benefit by presenting more out front. Range will increase as he continues to improve foot quickness. At the plate, hitting/power potential have improved through an open setup. Hands are quick (80 mph exit velocity) and work through an aggressive swing path. He stays inside the ball and shows a feel for the barrel with gap-to-gap pop.

12/27/2018 - Baseball Factory Winter Classic - Session 2 (Ages 12-14) Caden is a coachable C/3B prospect who worked hard on his skills during his time at the Winter Classic. Behind the plate, Caden protects his throwing hand in his primary stance and receives with a strong glove. He gets into his secondary stance on time and gains ground on his throws to 2B. He makes a clean exchange and keeps his throws on the 1B side of the bag. He moves efficiently and tucks his chin well when blocking. Setting up in a lower primary stance can help Caden improve defensively. At the plate, this RHH sets up in an athletic stance and takes a short stride. He gets his hands activated on time and is explosive driving his lower half through. He takes a compact swing with fast bat speed, leading to consistent contact and gap to gap pop. Striding square towards the pitcher can help Caden improve as a hitter. With four more years to develop, Caden has the time and potential to further progress his skills on the field.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
