01/14/2022 - 2022 Baseball Factory Rookie Pre-Season All-America Tournament Cael is an athletic, solid SS/RHP who showed as a prospect at the Rookie Preseason All American event. On the mound, delivery is sound and repeatable, allowing his arm action to work loose / quick to the plate. Arm strength is solid as indicated by his top velocity of 78 mph. Fastball shows a range of 76-78 mph. Breaking ball displays 11/5 shape with sharp break. He maintains arm speed on his changeup with tailing action. Control is solid as he works fast, attacking hitters and through strikes with all his pitches. Stock on the mound will continue to rise as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program. At SS, he displays smooth / athletic actions. Feet are active as he works around balls and plays through with his body. Hands / feet work well together through the fielding process. He moves well laterally with range improving as he increases foot quickness. At the plate he continues to shine through a squared setup. Hands are quick (85 mph exit velocity) and work through a direct / level swing path. He works to stay inside the ball, utilizing all fields through a drive approach. Power will continue to increase as he utilizes his lower half more efficiently. With 3 years to further develop, Cael has the makings of a special type player and will get looks from the collegiate coaches, possibly as a two-way guy.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
