07/16/2022 - Baseball Factory National World Series at IMG Academy- Session 1 (HS) Cailou continues to show as a prospect with improvements in his baseball abilities at the National World Series event. At the plate, hitting abilities are now outstanding with prop level power potential. Hands are quick (94 mph exit velocity) and work through an aggressive swing path. He has strength in his swing and shows a feel for the barrel with power showing best to the front side. Lower half works well through the swing with an aggressive contact. He has a deep HR to left field at the event. At 3B, feet are active as he displays proper footwork as he works to square ground balls and plays through with his body. Glove action are soft and presents out front. He moves well laterally with range increasing as he improves foot quickness. Throws are accurate with carry (81 mph velocity) across the diamond. Mental makeup is a plus as he has a positive attitude, works hard, and is very coachable.

01/07/2022 - 2022 Baseball Factory Pre-Season All-America Tournament (AZ) Caillou is a 2023 3B/RHP who showcased his skills during the Baseball Factory Pre-Season All-American Tournament. On the mound, he keeps his eyes on target and has a compact delivery. He separates his hands on-time, with a clean arm stroke, and strides in line to his target. He attacks hitters with a FB that topped out at 81mph with good tailing action, an 11/5 shaped breaking ball with medium break, and a knuckle ball with good action that he throws with FB arm speed. In 3 innings of work, he punched out 2 hitters and threw 57% of his pitches for strikes. In the field, he creates good fielding angles while fielding from an athletic/low fielding position with hands out front. Made on-line throws consistently, with good carry, and an arm velocity up to 82mph. At the plate, this right-handed hitter hits from an upright and even stance. Showed a short/quick barrel path, with late bat whip, and made square contact. Gets on-plane early as he hit balls into both gaps with a bat exit velocity up to 94mph. During the games, he made loud contact and had a single and a walk. With another year of continued growth and development, we see this 2-way prospect making huge strides on the baseball field.

11/21/2021 - All-In Membership - San Bernardino, CA Caillou is a strong, 2-way player who plays 3B and RHP. Defensively, Caillou covers ground well through efficient footwork. He fields in a low position, hands are soft, and he throws with a strong/accurate arm with carry across the diamond. Added reps and fielding a bit further out in front of his body will help solid defensive skills get even better. On the mound, Caillou has a balanced delivery, a quick/clean arm circle, and he separates his hands on time. He works in good tempo, throws strikes, and rotates through to his target. More use of his lower body and continuing to add arm strength will improve mound effectiveness. Offensively, Caillou is an aggressive hitter with good strength, fast bat speed, and good barrel accuracy. He has good balance, a level/direct barrel, and he uses his lower. Solid hitting can get even better by letting the ball travel a bit deeper into the hitting zone.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
