11/08/2009 - College PREP - Fresno, CA Caleb is a 6'3'' 2-way player with a projectable body. On the mound, Caleb shows promise with 4 good pitches and a quick/loose arm. He has quick hips, good direction, and a powerful front side. If Caleb can avoid throwing across his body, and incorporate more lower 1/2 into his delivery, we could see a spike in his velocity. At SS, Caleb is light on his feet, has good rhythm, and shows an accurate arm. Working to field through the ball, and seeing it into his glove should improve his fielding ability. At the plate, Caleb has a balanced approach, throws his hips toward the ball, and has good bat speed. His overall hitting could improve if he can get his arms further extended and use all fields.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
