01/12/2024 - 2024 Baseball Factory Pre-Season All-America Tournament Caleb is a 2026 3B/RHP who showcased his talents at the BF Pre-Season All-America Tournament. At 3B, he has active feet and a good fielding position. He has great initial instincts and a good glove action picking out hops. He throws from a 3/4 arm slot and has accuracy on his throws across the infield. He also showed athleticism showing multiple arm slots on double play balls and slow rollers. On the mound, Caleb showed a fastball that sat 77-79 mph, a curveball with 12-6 break, and a changeup with good sink. He has a clean arm action and projectable body. He produced a lot of ground balls and worked his off speed down in the zone. At the plate, he starts from a square stance and has fluid rhythm. He has a direct swing path and a good lower ½. Caleb had great ball flight and a 90 mph top exit velocity. In game, he had several hits and definitely showed his ability to be a middle of the lineup bat at the next level. Caleb projects well as a 3B and we are excited to see how he continues to improve his game.

12/27/2023 - Baseball Factory Christmas Camp & Tournament at Pirate City - Session 2 Caleb continues to impress with improvements in his baseball abilities at the Pirate City Christmas tournament. At the plate is where he shows best with power potential now showing outstanding abilities. He shows a solid approach and creates extension through the ball. Hands are quick (91 mph exit velocity) and work through an aggressive swing path. He has strength in his swing and shows a feel for the barrel with gap-to-gap pop. Hips and hands work well through the swing. At the event, he was 2 for 5 with a 2B and BB. At SS, he displays proper footwork and attacks baseball. He shows a quick exchange and gets rid of the baseball quickly with accuracy / carry (87 mph velocity) on his throws. Range will increase as he improves foot quickness. He showed the ability to play multiple positions. On the mound, arm strength has improved as he threw his top velocity to date at 79 mph. Breaking ball shows a range of 62-63 mph with 11/5 shape and gradual break. Slider is harder (67-68 mph) with tight spin and short break. He shows good poise on the mound and is aggressive attacking hitters, throwing strikes with all his pitches. Mental makeup is a plus as he shows great intangibles as he is a great team guy and asks a lot of questions, working to be the best player he can be.

05/14/2023 - National Showcase - Bowie, MD Caleb is an athletic SS/RHP who is a prospect on the diamond. At SS, defensive abilities are well above average as he displays clean / smooth actions. Feet are active as he displays proper footwork as he works to square ground balls and plays through with his body. Glove action is soft and presents well out front. Range will increase as he improves foot quickness. Throws are accurate with carry (81 mph velocity) to his target. At the plate, he continues to shine, displaying well above average hitting / power potential through a tall setup. Hands are quick (84 mph exit velocity) and work through a level swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields through a line drive approach. Power will increase as he utilizes his lower half more efficiently. On the mound, fastball shows a range of 73-78 mph. Breaking ball displays 11/5 shape with gradual break. He maintains arm speed on his changeup with arm side run. Control is solid as he throws strikes with all his pitches. Stock on the mound will continue to rise as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program. With 3 years to further develop, Caleb has potential and will get looks from the collegiate coaches as he continues to progress his game.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
