09/18/2024 - Arizona Junior Fall Classic (2026) Caleb Kearns, a 3B/RHP, put on an impressive performance at the Arizona Junior Fall Classic. On the mound, his fastball reached 84 mph, and he paired it with an outstanding 66 mph slider, which proved to be a true swing-and-miss pitch. Kearns showed great awareness by using the slider as his go-to out pitch, recording all three of his strikeouts with it. One recommendation would be to relax a bit on the mound and trust his defense more—his slider is so effective that even if batters make contact, it’s likely to be weak. At third base, Kearns demonstrated excellent fundamentals, centering the ball well and taking smart angles. His arm was solid, delivering accurate throws time after time. Offensively, Kearns was a force, getting hits in over half of his plate appearances. His power was on full display, highlighted by a towering triple that nearly cleared the fence and a double off the wall. With undeniable power, Kearns has the ability to hit at the next level.
