04/03/2011 - College PREP - Bartlett (Memphis), TN Caleb is an athletic looking second baseman with a strong lower half that will graduate in 2013. Defensively he makes the routine play, makes accurate throws to his target and has a good understanding of how to play the position. He throws with a short arm action from a 3/4 arm slot and has an average arm. He needs to continue to work on a lower approach which will help him get his hands out in front more. He also needs to play through the ball a bit more instead of staying back. At the plate he has good bat speed with a solid load and is level at contact. He shows an athletic stance with a short stride and good balance throughout the swing. He needs to relax his back elbow a bit which causes him to drop his hands as well as getting his front foot down earlier to help him avoid rushing and flying open on the inner half pitch. Caleb is young and needs to develop more strength and speed to help his overall game.
