12/27/2014 - Baseball Factory Christmas Camp & Tournament at Pirate City - Session 2 Caleb is a strong athletic pitcher who looks like a young Tom Glavine on the mound. He commands both sides of the plate with a FB that sits at 85 with good arm side run. He shows a CB that is hard and tight and a CH with late action that creates a lot of swing and misses. He maintains fluid actions with a smooth tempo. He utilizes his strong lower 1/2 and drives off the rubber, downhill toward the dish. In the outfield, he gets great reads and jumps to track down the fly-ball. He has a clean exchange with throws that show accuracy & carry into his target. At the plate, he shows an open stance with good rhythm and timing. His swing is short & direct on a level path. Widening his base a little in his setup will allow for improved balance throughout his entire swing. A true talent - Caleb is an exciting player to watch.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
