06/21/2024 - College World Series Experience - Session 2 Callan is a strong and talented OF in the 2024 class. Scouts were impressed with his baseball IQ and leadership. He was a pleasure to coach at the Omaha Experience and scouts were rooting for him every day. In the field, he played a great OF and tracked down several balls. He has a positive 1st step and showed great read off the bat abilities. His is a trusted defender and demonstrates excellent ball security. Arm is loose and plays at 80 velo. At the plate, he showed a short and compact swing. Has solid balance and creates body control. Had 9 plate appearances and reached base in 5 of them (2 hits, BB, HBP). Had pull side production and showed the ability to go the other way when needed. Overall, Callan is a gamer and next level player.

06/07/2023 - National Showcase - Houston, TX Callan is an OF who will graduate in 2024. Medium frame athletic build with strength present and plenty of room to develop. Ran his 60-yard dash in 6.95 seconds. In the OF gets good reads off the bat and works to keep ball in front of him. Takes aggressive routes to baseballs with ability to make routine plays. He fields from an athletic and square fielding position with a clean gather off of his left foot. Creates momentum to his target as he made on-line throws from a high 3/4 arm slot through cutoff man with an arm velocity up to 79mph. At the plate he starts with an upright and even stance. Has a quick bat through the hitting zone with natural juice in his swing. Gets extended through the baseball as he hit hard line drives into both gaps with a bat exit velocity up to 86mph during BP. As he continues to develop and mature, we see him having a bright future on the baseball field.

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
