08/01/2018 - Baseball Factory National World Series at Pirate City - Session 2 (Ages 14-18) Cameron is an athletic 2019 2-way prospect with a strong frame. He is a hard worker and made several adjustments throughout the week at Pirate City. At 2B, Cameron presents a low/early glove, has smooth hands, and plays through his back hand. He needs to continue to work on being on time with his prep step and anticipating contact. Continuing to practice game like throws in his throwing program will increase his ability to throw from multiple arm angles and on the run. At the plate, Cameron starts in an athletic stance, loads his hands back into the drive position, and hits off a firm front side. His hands work well and he stays inside the ball. He needs to continue to hunt the fastball and read the ball out of the pitcher's hand. On the bump, Cameron separates on time, has a clean arm stroke, and drives the back leg toward the plate. He needs to find his balance point and work down hill in his delivery. His fastball is flat and has some depth on his breaking ball. Adding a 2 seam fastball in his arsenal will allow him to throw a pitch with arm side run. Cameron is a very talented kid that needs to continue to challenge himself in his work. He will continue to improve with experience and we hope to see his progress in the future.
