12/06/2009 - College PREP - Cedar Hill, TX Cameron is a strong, lean athlete that pitches and plays SS. He currently projects better as a RHP. On the mound, he has good mechanics, a quick arm, and shows potential. His FB touched 83 MPH and it is a heavy pitch. His off-speed pitches show signs of life, even on an unseasonably day in Cedar Hill, TX. If Cameron can stay tall, rather than rocking back, and create a downhill throwing plane, his stock on the mound should rise. At SS, Cameron has good footwork, he squares his body, and his arm has life and carry. He stays low and is fluid with his backhand, and also turns a nice double play. Offensively, Cameron has good bat speed, a level swing path, and a small trigger. We could see his hitting improve with a more proper load and extension to and through the baseball.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
