Official Scouting Report

  • Class Rating
  • Position Projection

Exclusive College Recruiting Program Cameron is a physically well built 2024 prospect with a strong frame with projection still left in his game. A 2-way player in High school and travel ball the athleticism shows the potential for Cameron at the next level where his work on the mound projects to be his college position. A three quarters arm slot with arm speed and use of his lower half to stay online and repeat his delivery consistently Cameron attacks the strike zone showing control of 3 pitches. His mix is a current 87-91 mph FB with room to add velocity that has some riding action in the zone and life to create swing and miss, but room to tick up into the mid 90 mph range. He pairs it with two secondaries including SLD that flashes late depth and action to generate swings and misses. His CHG currently shows sink and fade to the arm side and will continue to develop. Cameron has power profile with the frame, athleticism, and arm speed to develop into a starting pitcher at the college level who can make a strong impact in a weekend rotation or potential high leverage reliever. A very intriguing college prospect.

05/15/2022 - All-In Membership - Waco, TX Cameron is a 3B/RHP who will graduate in 2024. Tall frame athletic build with thick lower half and strength present. Ran his 60-yard dash in 6.97 seconds. At 3B, he works from right to left as he works to center baseball and he fields from an athletic fielding position. He fields out front, with soft hands, and has a quick exchange. Made accurate/on-line throws to first base from a high 3/4 arm slot, with a quick release, and an arm velocity up to 93mph. On the mound, he gathers over the rubber, with a clean leg lift, and works downhill towards target. He separates his hands on-time, with a loose/clean arm stroke, and extends out front. He attacks hitters with his FB that topped out at 84mph with good downward tilt, an 11/5 shaped breaking ball with tight spin, and a changeup with some arm side run that he throws with FB arm speed. CH was best pitch during his bullpen session. At the plate, he hits from a crouched and square stance. He activates his hands, with late bat whip, and showed a fast barrel through the hitting zone. A direct barrel path enables him to hit balls hard to all fields with a bat exit velocity up to 82mph. With 2 years of continued growth and development, we foresee this 2-way prospect making huge strides on the baseball field.

04/18/2021 - All-In Membership - Highland Park (DFW), TX Cameron is a tall, strong 3B/RHP who has a bright future on the diamond. Foot speed is well above average as indicated by his 60 time of 7.05. At the plate is where he shows best, displaying well above average power potential through a squared setup. Hands are quick (and work through a level swing path. He has strength and stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields with gap to gap pop. At 3B, he displays smooth / athletic actions. Feet are active as he works around balls and plays through with his body. Glove action is clean and presents well out front. He moves well laterally and covers a lot of ground, displaying range. Throws are accurate with carry (84 mph velocity) across the diamond. On the mound, delivery is sound / repeatable as he shows good tempo through a strong balance point, allowing his arm action to work quick and free to the plate. He shows a solid mound presence on the bump. Fastball shows a range of 75-77 mph. Breaking ball displays 11/5 shape with gradual break. He maintains arm speed on his changeup with sinking action. Stock on the mound will continue to increase as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program. With 3 years to further develop, Cameron has a lot of potential and will get looks from the collegiate coaches as he continues to progress his game.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
