06/29/2022 - Official College Recruiting Membership - Salem (Roanoke), VA Cameron showed his best stuff on the mound to date during his last workout with The Factory. He showed a good frame, and a clean/quick lefty arm action. He separates his hands on time, lands with good direction, and finishes in a solid position. Cameron has solid off-speed pitches and competes well in the zone with all of the them.

04/11/2021 - Official College Recruiting Membership - Salem (Roanoke), VA Cameron continues to show improvements in his baseball abilities. Foot speed has improved as he ran his best 60 time to date. At the plate, he shows a tall setup. Hands are quick and work through a level swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields through a line drive approach. Power will increase as he utilizes his lower half more efficiently. At 1B, defensive abilities have improved as he displays smooth / fluid actions. Feet are active as he works to square balls up but needs to play through with his body. Glove action is clean but needs to present more out front. He displays proper footwork around the bag and he is a quality receiver. Range will increase as he continues to improve foot quickness. On the mound, delivery is sound and repeatable, allowing his arm action to work well to the plate. Arm strength has improved as he threw his top velocity to date at 74 mph. Breaking ball displays 2/8 shape with gradual break. He maintains arm speed on his changeup but throws too hard, resembling fastball. Control is well above average as he throws strikes with all his pitches. Stock on the mound will continue to rise as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program.

01/17/2020 - 2020 Baseball Factory All-America Pre-Season Rookie Tournament Cameron is a tall 1B/LHP prospect who showcased his skills at the Under Armour All-America Pre-Season Rookie Tournament. In the field, Cameron gets into a low position and fields the ball out in front with soft hands. He gains ground well on his throws and keeps them accurate and strong through his target. At the plate, this RHH sets up in a tall stance and takes a short stride. He gets his hands activated in his load and works to barrel up the baseball, leading to solid line drives. On the mound, Cameron gathers over the rubber and separates his hands on time. He works with a clean arm and stays inline towards the plate, finishing with a controlled landing. Cameron shows a three pitch mix with his fastball topping out at 67mph with arm side run and sinking action. Breaking ball sits from 61-62mph with 2-8 break. Changeup sits at 63mph with sinking action as he throws with deceptive arm speed. Overall, Cameron is a solid prospect who has the potential to further develop his skills on the field.

12/27/2019 - Baseball Factory Christmas Camp & Tournament at Pirate City - Session 2 (Ages 14-18) Cameron continues to show improvements in his baseball abilities on the diamond and has a promising future on the diamond. On the mound, arm strength has improved as he threw his top velocity to date at 73 mph. Fastball showed a range of 71-73 mph with sinking action. Breaking ball displays 2/8 shape with gradual break. Control is solid as he throws strikes with all his pitches. Stock on the mound will continue to rise as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program. At 1B, he displays smooth / fluid actions. Feet are active as he shows proper footwork around the bag and is a quality receiver. Hands are clean but needs to present more out front. Range will increase as he improves foot quickness. At the plate, he shows an open setup. Hands are quick and work through a level swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields through a line drive approach. Mental makeup is a plus as he has a great personality, is very coachable and works hard to be the best player he can be.

11/03/2019 - College PREP - Vinton (Roanoke), VA Cameron is a tall, thin, 2-way player who pitches and plays 1B. On the mound, this LHP has good balance, a clean arm circle, and he separates his hands on time. He works well to his balance point, has a controlled landing toward home, and he throws strikes. More eyes on target, a better finish, and added arm strength will help mound effectiveness get better. Defensively, Cameron has good footwork around the bag, he makes plays, and has a quick/clean exchange with carry and accuracy to his target. Quicker feet, and getting in a better fielding position can improve defensive skills. Offensively, Cameron has a tall stance, a short stride, and good balance. He takes a square stride toward the pitcher, and can spray the ball to all fields. Hitting can get better with work on timing, bat speed, and swing path.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
