Official Scouting Report

01/18/2013 - 2013 Under Armour All-America Pre-Season Tournament Scott posted a 6.56 in the 60 yard dash, nearly three tenths better than the 6.82 we saw from him previously. He has an athletic build with length at 6-foot-2 and 190 pounds. In the outfield, his actions were athletic and his first step was quick. He used his speed to cover good ground, and showed an accurate throwing arm. At the plate, he hit from an athletic setup and showed quick hands. He held his balance well, and showed some rhythm to hit. Stroke was level, and he made consistent line drive contact. Overall, an athletic and talented player with standout speed and a projectable body.

07/23/2012 - 2012 Team One Northeast Showcase At Team One Northeast, Scott displayed athletic actions and quick feet in the infield, along with a low approach to the baseball. His defensive abilities should continue to develop as he learns to quicken his exchange and get some backspin on his throws across the diamond. At the plate, he has a square and athletic setup that allows him to make a level pass at the ball and stay up the middle in his approach. His offensive tools should continue to improve as he learns to let the ball travel deeper in the strike zone and fire his back hip at contact. As a 2013 graduate, Scott has the opportunity to continue to develop his skills in preparation for the next level.

01/13/2012 - 2012 Under Armour Pre-Season All-America Tournament This week in Arizona, Scott displayed the ability to be aggressive on balls and takes good routes, allowing him to get behind fly balls in the outfield. His defensive abilities should continue to develop as he learns to get on top of his throws and work downhill. At the plate, he has strong hands and creates consistent contact. His offensive tools should continue to improve as he learns to unify his swing by creating some consistent rhythm. With two more seasons of high school baseball remaining Scott has the opportunity to continue to develop his skills in preparation for the next level.

08/20/2011 - College PREP - Purchase, NY Scott continues to improve his baseball tools. Foot speed continues to improve as he is now an outstanding runner as indicated by his 6.85 60 time. He utilizes his quick, athletic feet well in the OF as he has improved his defensive abilities to solid average. Hands / feet work well together as he gets rid of the baseball quickly with accuracy on his throws. He needs to stay on a long toss program to aid in building more arm strength and carry. Offensively is where Cameron has improved the most now showing outstanding hitting abilities and pro-type power through an athletic setup. Hands are quick, generating bat speed to and through the baseball at contact. He has strength in his swing as he creates backspin with the baseball jumping off his bat when centered. He will hit and hit with power at the next level. Scott shows as a top young player with the makings of a solid player at the next level as he continues to improve.

01/14/2011 - Under Armour Pre-Season All-America - 2011 Cameron improved his foot speed as he ran his best 60 time to date, now a 7.10 runner. He also showed in the OF for the first time. He utilizes his quick, athletic feet well in working to get behind balls and plays through with momentum to his target in the OF. He must stay on a long toss program to aid in further developing more arm strength with carry. Offensively, Scott makes consistent contact with the ball jumping off of his bat when centered. Currently, he projects best at 1B for the next level.

12/27/2009 - Christmas Camp and Tournament #2 Scott continues to show improvements in his baseball abilities as he improved his foot speed as he ran his best 60 time to date, now a 7.23 runner. Defensive grades at 1B have also improved to slightly above average as he displays soft, sure hands in making the plays.

07/07/2009 - Cape Cod Training 2009 - Week 1 Cameron is a very young, 2013 graduate that shows as a two-way player at 1B and SS with a big, strong frame that shows projection as he continues to physically mature. Foot speed is solid average and he will benefit by getting on a speed / agility program to improve foot quickness for the next level. He works hard and shows a solid glove action, presenting a solid target at 1B. Feet are active but needs to work on footwork around the bag. Defensive abilities in the IF are average. Arm strength is near average and he must get on a strict long toss program to aid in further developing more arm strength with carry on throws. At the plate is where Cameron shows best, displaying solid average abilities with well above average power through an aggressive approach. Hands are quick and direct to the baseball, generating bat speed. He has strength in his swing with the baseball, jumping off his bat when centered. He was 2 for 7 with a HR at the event. With 4 years to further develop, His best tool maybe his mental makeup as he is coachable and a great kid. Cameron has the makings to be a special type player at the next level as he continues to improve.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
