07/18/2024 - Baseball Factory National World Series at JRTC Carlos continues to impress with his baseball abilities on the diamond and has a promising future on the diamond. At 2B, feet are active as he works to square balls up, showing good body control. He does a nice job of picking out hops and shows off his athletic abilities on the feeds of the double play. Glove action is sure and presents out front. Range will increase as he improves foot quickness. Throws are accurate but will benefit by building more arm strength through a long toss program. At the plate, he shows a squared setup. Hands are quick and work through a level swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields through a line drive approach. Lower half works well through the swing with an aggressive hip turn. At the event, he was 2 for 5 with a 2B. Mental makeup is a plus as he is very coachable and works hard to be the best player he can be.

05/05/2024 - National Showcase - San Antonio, TX Carlos is a 2B prospect in the 2028 graduating class. A young/developing player with room add muscle. Shows good lateral range and fields from a low fielding position. Has a low funnel and looks ball to glove. Keeps his feet moving towards target and made accurate throws to all bases. He hits from a tall and closed stance. Keeps his head still and tracks ball to bat. Gets extended through the baseball with ability to hit balls to all fields. Carlos should make huge improvements in all facets of his game with continued growth and development.

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
