07/23/2017 - Baseball Factory National World Series at Pirate City - Session 2 (Ages 12-14) Carson continues to show improvements in his baseball abilities and has a promising future on the diamond. Foot speed has improved as he ran his best 60 time to date. At SS, he displays smooth / clean actions. Feet are aggressive in attacking balls but needs to play through more with his body. Glove action is soft / clean but will benefit by presenting more out front. He shows off his athletic abilities on his feeds / turns of the double play. At the plate, he shows an athletic setup. Hands are loose and work through a level swing path. He works to keep hands inside the ball, utilizing all fields through a line drive approach. On the mound, fastball showed a range of 58-60 mph with cutting action. Control is solid as he attacks hitters, locating to both sides of the plate. Mental makeup is a plus as he is very coachable and works hard to be the best player he can be. He is a versatile player that can play many positions.

02/25/2017 - Interactive Video Program - Sioux Falls, SD Carson is a RHP/SS who will graduate in 2022. Defensively at SS, he takes fluid glove side angles as he fields GB's in an athletic fielding position. He turns smooth DP's with soft hands and with a clean exchange to throw. On the mound, this RHP delivers from a 3/4 arm slot and keeps his eyes on target. Arm action is clean and finishes strong towards home plate. With the bat, Carson has a smooth rhythm to load. He gets good separation and uses his lower 1/2 to create power in his swing. Overall abilities in his game will improve with work on the following.

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
