10/24/2021 - Official College Recruiting Membership - Stillwater (Minneapolis), MN Carson is an athletic OF prospect who continues to showcase his skills on the diamond. At the plate, this LHH shows an advanced approach through an open setup. He is fluid to load and drives through well with his lower half. He works through a level swing and drives the ball from gap to gap with authority. In the field, Carson shows active footwork and is agile covering ground. He gets into an athletic position and fields the ball out in front of his body. His exchange is clean and he gets rid of the ball quickly, making accurate throws with carry through his target. Overall, Carson is a talented prospect who has the potential to further build upon his skills on the field.

10/25/2020 - Official College Recruiting Membership - Stillwater (Minneapolis), MN Carson continues to show improvements in his baseball abilities and has a promising future on the diamond. Foot speed has improved as he ran his best 60 time to date, now a 7.12 runner. At the plate, hitting / power potential have improved through a tall, squared setup. Hands are quick (81 mph exit velocity) and work through an aggressive swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields through a line drive approach. In the OF, defensive abilities have improved as he displays smooth / athletic actions. He takes proper routes / angles in tracking down balls. Feet are active as he works to get behind and plays through with momentum to his target. On the mound, arm strength has improved as he threw his top velocity to date at 67 mph. Breaking ball displays 2/8 shape with gradual break. He maintains arm speed on his changeup with arm side run. Stock on the mound will continue to rise as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program.

09/04/2020 - MS All-Region Tournament Carson is an athletic OF prospect who showed well during the All-Region Tournament. In the field, Carson shows efficient footwork and takes good angles to the ball. He gets into a square position and fields ground balls with a firm glove. He has a clean exchange and keeps his throws on-line to his target. At the plate, this LHH sets up in a square stance with center balance. He is fluid getting back into his load and drives through well with his lower half. He takes a level swing with fast bat speed and good extension, leading to consistent contact and gap to gap pop. Overall, Carson is a talented prospect who has the potential to further build upon his skills on the field.

07/21/2019 - Baseball Factory National World Series at Pirate City - Session 2 (Ages 12-14) Carson is an athletic and talented 2024 2-way prospect that was eager to learn all week. In the OF, Carson is on time with his prep step, he reads the ball off the bat well, and has a solid first step to the ball. He covers a lot of ground and has a high baseball IQ at the position. He needs to continue to work through the ball and create momentum into his throws. At the plate, Carson starts in a squared stance and gets his front foot down on time. He stays balanced through contact, creates backside drive with his lower half, and has a pull side approach. He needs to continue to get the barrel inside the ball and have good barrel direction through contact. Keeping his head down at contact will keep him from spinning off the ball at contact as well. On the bump, Carson mixes pitches well. He gathers over the rubber, separates on time, and has a simple delivery. He needs continue to ride his back leg toward the plate and work down hill. Carson will continue to improve with experience and we hope to see his progress in the future.

11/08/2018 - Baseball Factory Select Training & Competition in Arizona (Ages 12-14) Carson is a versatile OF/LHP prospect who plays the game aggressively. As a left-handed hitter, Carson has a square setup with a centered balance and firm front side. He has fluid rhythm with a good load and square stride as he uses his lower half throughout his swing. Carson shows fast bat speed with a short, on-plane swing path delivering square contact. He is a line drive type hitter who looks to put the ball in play. In the field, Carson plays with effective footwork and takes the proper angles. He moves with good body control and fields the ball in an athletic position. He presents his glove with a lane to fields the ball. Carson has a clean exchange leading into a short arm action throwing from a high 3/4 arm slot. He plays with momentum through the baseball towards his target. On the mound, Carson has a balanced, on-time delivery. He has a clean arm action and keeps his eyes on his target. Carson stays square to home plate with the proper stride length and a controlled landing. He rotates towards his target as he finishes. Carson pitches aggressively and fills up the strike zone. Overall, Carson is a well-rounded prospect who has the ability to get even better.

07/18/2018 - Interactive Video Program - Minneapolis, MN Carson is a young, slim, 2-way player who plays OF and LHP. Defensively, Carson reads the ball off the bat well, footwork is playable, and he tracks the ball well. He has a clean exchange, and a long arm action with some accuracy to his target. On the mound, Carson stands over the rubber well balanced, he has a loose arm action, and separates on time. He keeps his eyes on target, gets good extension on his pitches, and finishes completely. At the plate, Carson has a square/athletic set-up, good balance, and he loads well. He swings aggressively, has good feel for the barrel of the bat, and makes solid contact. Carson can improve with work on the following.

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
