04/10/2022 - Official College Recruiting Membership - Sanford (Orlando), FL Carson is a 2B prospect who continues to showcase his skills on the diamond. In the field, Carson shows efficient footwork and moves well laterally. He gets into a low position and fields the ball out in front with soft hands. His exchange is clean and he gets rid of the ball quickly, making on-line throws to his target. Long tossing can help Carson build up his arm strength. At the plate, this RHH sets up in an open stance and takes a short stride. He gets into his load well and creates good extension through the zone, producing solid contact. Carson can barrel up more baseballs by working a smoother rhythm into his load. Overall, Carson is a developing prospect who has the potential to further build upon his skills on the field.

11/12/2020 - Baseball Factory Fall Select Tournament at Pirate City Carson continues to show improvements in his baseball abilities. At 2B, defensive abilities have improved as he displays clean / smooth actions. Feet are active as he displays proper footwork as he works to square ground balls and plays through with his body. Glove action is clean but needs to present more out front. Range will increase as he continues to improve foot quickness. Throws are accurate but will benefit by building more arm strength through a long toss program. At the plate, hitting / power potential have improved through a squared setup. Hands are quick and work through an aggressive swing path. He makes consistent hard contact through a line drive approach with power showing best to the pull side. Mental makeup is a plus as he has a positive attitude, works hard, and is very coachable.

07/13/2020 - Official College Recruiting Membership - Daytona Beach, FL Carson is a young (2024 grad) R/R 2B. With the bat, this righty shows a tall setup with rhythm to load. He takes a hack, looks to engage his lower 1/2 and hits line-drives. Working to swing on a shorter/more direct path will help to increase pop off of the barrel. At 2B, he shows active prep and comes to get the GB. He tracks the ball into his mitt, funnels cleanly and works in-line toward his target. Continuing to strengthen his arm (long toss) while playing through more toward his target will help to improve defensive skill-set. Only a 2024 grad - Carson still has a ton of time to progress to get to where he wants to be.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
