09/03/2021 - Baseball Factory's All-Region Tournament (HS) Carson is a 2022 3B/RHP prospect out of Gardnerville, NV who showcased his skills during the All-Region Tournament. In the field, Carson makes the routine plays and keeps his throws accurate across the diamond. At the plate, this RHH gets into a stacked load and rotates his core through well, producing solid contact. On the mound, Carson starts with a simple rock step and separates his hands on time. He works with a quick arm and accelerates through his release. Carson operates with a two pitch mix with his fastball topping out at 77mph. Breaking ball sits from 66-67mph with 11-5 break. Overall, Carson is a solid prospect who has the potential to further build upon his skills on the field.

06/18/2021 - Baseball Factory All-State Tournament (HS) Carson continues to shine on the diamond. At the plate, he shows an open setup. Hands are quick (85 mph exit velocity) as he squares the ball up consistently driving it on a line. Defensively, feet are active and plays through with his body. Glove action is clean and presents out front. Range is a plus as he moves well laterally and covers ground. Throws are accurate with carry (87 mph velocity) to his target. On the mound, fastball shows a range of 78-80 mph with tailing action. Breaking ball displays 10/4 shape with gradual break. Stock on the mound will continue to rise as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program. We look forward to seeing what the future holds for this 2022 prospect.

12/19/2020 - Winter Pro Training Experience - Nor Cal (HS - Dec) Carson is a solid/athletic (6’2”/185 lb) 3B/RHP prospect in the 2022 class. At 3B, he starts in an athletic position. He has a solid glove, presenting his hands out in front and able to get rid of the ball quickly. He has a quick arm action with the ability to throw from multiple arm angles with accuracy and zip. He also shows well at the plate, standing in the box with an open setup. He keeps his lower half centered and coordinates his hands/hips well. Fast hands and an on-plane swing create hard and consistent line-drive type contact. On the mound, this RHP shows solid mechanics with a good presence. He displays an aggressive mentality while getting ahead in counts and pounding the strike zone. He has a three-pitch mix and throws all pitches for strikes: FB topped out at 78 with tail, CB had 11-5 shape, and he showcased a deceptive CH with run. Overall, Carson is a solid prospect who can make an impact on both sides of the ball.

11/01/2020 - Official College Recruiting Membership - Reno, NV Carson is an athletic RHP/3B who has a promising future on the diamond. At the plate, he displays outstanding hitting abilities with well above average power potential through an open setup. Hands are quick as he squares the ball up consistently driving it on a line. Defensively, he creates angles around the GB with fluid actions. DP turns are quick with zip (85 mph velocity) on his throws. On the mound, delivery is sound/repeatable as he shows good tempo through a strong balance point, allowing his arm action to work quick and free to the plate. Fastball shows a range of 78-79 mph. Breaking ball displays 11/5 shape with late break. He maintains arm speed on his changeup and shows plus movement. Off speed stuff show as quality pitches that will get outs. Command/control is well above average as he attacks hitters and throws strikes with all his pitches. With 2 years to further develop, Carson has the makings of a special type player with time and room to progress his game.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
