Carter is a versatile player who can play the infield, catch, and pitch. His hitting continues to be a strength for him. He has excellent timing, loose hands, a simple load, and a nice level swing path. This allows him to be a consistent line drive type hitter. He also has some power potential. Defensively, he presents his hands, has a good first step, and gets rid of the ball quickly with an effective short arm stroke. He is a coachable player and a good teammate. With three years of high school baseball remaining, he has a good ceiling and will continue to show improvement as he matures and his athletic numbers follow suit.
