08/29/2024 - All-Ripken Games - Baltimore, MD Carter is a solid catcher who made a strong showing at the All Ripken Games. Behind the plate, he presents a firm mitt with excellent pocket awareness, consistently sticking pitches. He utilizes his body well during the blocking process. His pop times are around 2.60 seconds, with accurate throws, and those times are expected to improve as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program. At the plate, Carter displays an aggressive approach, with quick hands working through a level swing path. He stays inside the ball and uses all fields with a line drive approach. With significant upside and room for growth, Carter has plenty of potential to further develop his game.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
