01/08/2023 - National Showcase - San Antonio, TX Carter is a C who will graduate in 2025. Medium frame lean build with some strength present. At C, he showed an easy sit and tracks pitches to the mitt. He works his thumb under ball and keeps pitches in strike zone. He throws from a high 3/4 arm slot with an arm velocity up to 74mph and a best pop time of 2.77 seconds. He showed good blocking angles, with his chin tucked, and is quick to his feet. At the plate, he starts with an upright and open stance. Has a repeatable swing and showed good plate discipline. Hits into a firm side as he squared up balls to the pull side. With 2 years of continued growth and development, we foresee Carter having a bright future on the baseball field.

01/23/2022 - All-In Membership - Missouri City (Houston), TX Carter is a C who will graduate in 2025. Medium frame lean build with some strength present and room to add throughout. At C, he works through the plate, with active feet, and works to center the baseball. Has relaxed actions with a square secondary stance and clean transfer. A long arm stroke in back as he works to a high 3/4 release point coming forward with an arm velocity up to 68mph and a best pop time of 2.45 seconds. Showed good range arm side with a relaxed mitt. At the plate, he starts with an upright and open stance. Takes an on-time glide step, with smooth timing, and showed quick hands through the hitting zone. Is centered at contact with a flat barrel. He sprayed balls to all fields with a bat exit velocity up to 70mph. With 3 1/2 years of continued growth and development, we foresee Carter making huge strides on the baseball field.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
