Power will increase as he utilizes his lower half more efficiently. On the mound, arm strength has improved as he threw his top velocity to date at 83 mph. Fastball showed a range of 82-83 mph with good life. Breaking ball displays 11/5 shape with sharp break. He maintains arm speed on his changeup with arm side run. 04/03/2022 - Official College Recruiting Membership - Windsor (Madison), WI Carter is a C prospect who will graduate in 2024. Medium frame athletic build, with strong lower half, and strength present. Primary C, he has an easy sit, with quick/efficient footwork, and showed good lateral range. He works to center baseball as he catches outer half of baseball and presents a good target. Works his thumb under ball, with soft hands, and an ability to beat balls to spot. He gains ground to second base as he throws from a high 3/4 arm slot, with a short arm stroke, and an arm velocity up to 81mph with a best pop time of 2.16 seconds. A right-handed hitter, hits from an athletic and square stance. Keeps eyes and shoulders level and keeps his weight between his knees. Has a good bat angle and drives his back hip to contact point. A flat barrel path enables him to square up balls into both gaps with a bat exit velocity up to 81mph. With 2 years of continued growth and development, we see Carter making huge strides on the baseball field.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
