11/09/2023 - Baseball Factory Select Training & Competition in California (Ages 14-18) Carter is a 2027 SS/RHP out of Livingston, MT who improved his skills during the BF Select Training and Competition. At SS he tries to create good fielding angles and keeps his eyes behind his glove. He shows ability to throw from multiple arm slots, with a quick release, and an arm velocity up to 78mph. On the mound he works with good tempo and separates his hands on-time. He attacks hitters with a FB that topped out at 59mph with plus command, and an 11/5 shaped breaking ball. In 2 innings of work, he didn't allow a run and struck out 1 batter. At the plate he hits from a tall and even stance. Shows a short barrel path and is balanced at contact. In live game action he reached on a single and made consistent contact. Carter worked hard and made adjustments the whole week. We look forward to seeing him at another event in the near future.

08/20/2023 - National Showcase - Billings, MT Carter is a SS/RHP who will graduate in 2027. Medium frame lean build with some strength present. At SS, shows active footwork, with ability to cut down distance, and good body control at the baseball. He shows ability to cover ground and a quick transfer. Made accurate throws to first base from a 3/4 arm slot, with a quick release, and an arm velocity up to 66mph. Showed good touch on his flip and follows. On the mound, he has a simple delivery and keeps his eyes on his target. Has a good attitude and willingness to be coached. He throws a FB that sits 57-59mph, a 10/4 shaped slider, and a developing changeup. At the plate, he hits from an athletic and square stance. Short glide step and tracks pitches well. During his round of BP, he hit balls to all fields with a bat exit velocity up to 59mph. With 4 years of continued growth and development, we see this 2-way player making huge strides on the baseball field.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
