12/27/2024 - Baseball Factory East Coast Winter Classic (MS) Carter is an athletic 3B/RHP with a bright future in baseball. At third base, he shows clean, smooth actions, active feet, and proper footwork to square up ground balls, though presenting the glove more out front will refine his defense. He moves well laterally, and improved foot quickness will boost his range. Offensively, Carter features a tall setup, quick hands, and a level swing path, staying inside the ball for a line-drive approach and generating power through an aggressive hip turn in his lower half. On the mound, his fastball sits 60-62 mph with an 11/5 breaking ball showing gradual break, and adding arm strength plus refining off-speed pitches will raise his mound stock. With six years left to develop, Carter holds significant potential to grow his game.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
