10/06/2021 - Official College Recruiting Membership - Columbia, MD Casey is an athletic catcher who will graduate in 2026. Behind the plate, feet are active as he works in line through a clean transfer / exchange. Pop times showed in the 2.13 range with accuracy / carry (80 mph velocity) on his throws. Times will continue to drop as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program. He shows a squared setup and presents a soft mitt out front and utilizes his body through the blocking process but needs to work to get down sooner. At the plate, he shows a tall setup. Hands are quick and work through level swing path. He makes consistent hard contact and stays inside the ball through a line drive approach. With 5 years to further develop, Casey with time and room to progress his game.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
