08/07/2023 - National Showcase - Houston, TX Cayden is a 2B/C prospect who will graduate in 2025. Medium frame lean build with some strength present. Behind the plate, he works to center the baseball with a relaxed sit. Sets up in a low/square primary stance, with an easy sway, while working his thumb under and has a loud mitt. Tries to create good blocking angles while covering the 5-hole. Good direction to second base and accurate throws. Throws from an over-the-top arm slot with an arm velocity up to 80mph and a best pop time of 2.2 seconds. In the infield, he starts with efficient feet and ability to cover ground in all directions. Creates good fielding angles as he keeps his eyes behind his glove. Clean transfers into a high 3/4 release point with consistent throws to first base. Showed good touch on his flip and follow on his DP feeds. A switch hitter, from the right he hits from an athletic and even stance. He keeps his hands inside the baseball and hits the ball where it is pitched. He hit balls to all fields with a bat exit velocity up to 78mph during BP. From the left side, he hits from an athletic and closed stance. Gets on-plane early with a high finish. During his round of BP, he hit line drives into both gaps with a bat exit velocity up to 77mph. With 2 years of continued growth and development, we see this 2-way prospect of having a bright future on the baseball field.

11/06/2022 - Official College Recruiting Membership - Tomball (Houston), TX Cayden is a C/2B who will graduate in 2025. Medium frame lean build with some strength present. Behind the dish, he works to center the baseball and presents a low target with some pocket awareness. Tries to work around the baseball and gains ground towards second base with good direction. Throws from a 3/4 release point, with a loose arm stroke in back, and has an arm velocity up to 78mph and a best pop time of 2.36 seconds. Creates good blocking angles and showed a soft chest. At 2B, he works to center the baseball and keep ball in front of him. Fields out front, with ability to pick out hops, and keeps his eyes behind glove. Made on-line throws from a 3/4 arm slot to first base. A switch hitter, from the right side he hits from an athletic and open stance. Showed a direct barrel path with ability to keep his hands inside the baseball. He sprayed balls to all fields with a bat exit velocity up to 74mph. From the left side, he hits from an athletic and even stance. Starts with a glide step and activated hands. Showed good barrel control with a high finish. Made square contact to all fields with a bat exit velocity up to 76mph. Cayden showed better from the left side during his BP session. With 3 years of continued growth and development, we foresee Cayden having a bright future on the baseball field.

09/19/2021 - Official College Recruiting Membership - Beverly Hills (Detroit), MI Caden continues to show improvements in his baseball abilities. Foot speed has improved as he ran his best 60 time to date. Behind the plate, pop times have improved as he threw his lowest time to date at 2.35. Times will continue to improve as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program. At 3B, he displays smooth / fluid actions. Feet are active as he works to square ball and plays through with his body. Glove action is clean but needs to present more out front. Range will increase as he improves foot quickness. At the plate, hitting / power potential has improved on both sides. Hands are loose and work through a level swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields through a line drive approach.

01/08/2021 - 2021 Baseball Factory Pre-Season Prospects Tournament (HS) Cayden is a C/2B prospect who showcased his skills during the Pre-Season Prospects Tournament. Behind the plate, Cayden presents a good target to the pitch and tracks the ball into his glove. His exchange is clean and he makes accurate throws to the 2B bag. He is efficient moving to block and covers up well. Long tossing can help Cayden build up his arm strength. At the plate, this switch hitter sets up in a square stance and works through a level swing, producing solid contact. Cayden can barrel up more baseballs by striding square toward the pitcher. Overall, Cayden is a developing prospect who has the potential to further build upon his skills on the field.

11/06/2020 - Baseball Factory Select Training & Competition in Arizona Cayden continues to show improvements in his baseball abilities. At the plate, he continues to show as a switch hitter with similar abilities from both sides. Hands are quick and work through a level swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields through a line drive approach. Behind the plate, feet are active as he works in line through a clean transfer/exchange. Pop times have improved as he threw his lowest time to date at 2.43 with accuracy on his throws. Times will continue to drop as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program and works to get rid of the baseball quicker. He utilizes his body well through the blocking process and is a wall behind the plate. Mental makeup is a plus as he has a positive attitude, works hard, and is very coachable.

09/20/2020 - Official College Recruiting Membership - Detroit, MI Cayden continues to show improvements in his baseball abilities. Behind the dish, he presents a soft/sure mitt showing great pocket awareness sticking pitches. He utilizes his body well through the blocking process but needs to work to get body down sooner. Pop times have improved as he threw his lowest time to date at 2.63 with accuracy on his throws. Times will continue to drop as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program. At 2B, he displays smooth/athletic actions. Feet are active but needs to attack balls more and play through with his body. Glove action is clean but needs to present out front. Range will increase as he improves foot quickness. At the plate, he shows a squared setup. Hands are loose and work through a level swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields through a line drive approach. Power will increase as he utilizes his lower half more efficiently.

09/22/2019 - Interactive Video Program - Beverly Hills (Detroit), MI Cayden lowered pop times to 2.87 seconds and improved catching skills during his last workout in Detroit. Behind the plate, Cayden shows active feet, soft hands, and good flexibility. He keeps his chin down when blocking, he has good agility side to side, and he throws with accuracy from a loose arm to 2nd base. In the INF, Cayden has active feet, he covers ground well, and fields athletically. He makes plays, works the double play nicely, and gains some ground toward his target when throwing. Offensively, Cayden is equally as good from both sides of the plate. From the right, Cayden has a still head, he stays inside the baseball well, and can hit the ball to the opposite field. From the left side, Cayden has good balance, a level swing, and lets the ball travel deep into the zone.

09/23/2018 - Interactive Video Program - Beverly Hills (Detroit), MI Cayden showed some improvements in his all around game during his time in Detroit. Behind the plate, Cayden has efficient footwork, he presents his glove well, and he centers it properly. He has a soft chest when blocking, his exchange is clean, and he throws with momentum and consistency from a short arm action to his target. In the INF, Cayden has good pre-pitch actions, he fields low in a square position, and throws with consistency across the diamond. Offensively, Cayden is equally as good from both sides of the plate. From the right, Cayden has an aggressive swing, good feel for the barrel, and he uses some lower body. From the left, Cayden has a quiet set-up, smooth rhythm, and he stands in well balanced. Cayden can improve overall skills with work on the following.

09/24/2017 - Interactive Video Program - Beverly Hills (Detroit), MI Cayden is a switch-hitting catcher who will graduate in 2024. Defensively behind the plate, he moves well with active footwork. He's quick to block and recover and gains ground on his throws down to 2B. With the stick, Cayden shows similarly from both sides of the plate. He keeps his hands inside, lets the ball travel and drives the ball on a line from gap to gap. Overall abilities in his game will improve with work on the following.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
