Official Scouting Report

  • OF/RHPPosition Projection

11/02/2023 - Baseball Factory Fall Select Tournament at JRTC Cayden is a 5ft 9/135 OF/RHP in the 2027 class. In the field, he shows the trust factor to make the routine play look routine. He sees the ball well off the bat and the ball sticks to his pocket. Keeps his frontside closed on this throws and uses a high 3 qtr. slot. Working to quicken his footspeed and release will allow him to prevent the free 90 on the basepaths. On the mound, he operates with a 3-pitch mix from a 3 qtr. slot. His FB has tailing actions at 61-3. His CB shaped 9-3 at 58-61. His CH was used sparingly and showed sinking actions at 56-7. At the plate, he begins in a squared stance with high hands. He activates his load phase and is on-time with the pitch. Stays inside his feet well and gains extension. Scouts like his tracking ability and feel if he increased his bat speed, he would catch the ball more out in front of the plate. Overall, Cayden is a fine player in the 2027 class.

08/20/2023 - National Showcase - Billings, MT Cayden is an OF/RHP in the class of 2027. He shows ability to make routine plays and keep ball in front of him. He tries to work through groundballs and takes aggressive angles to get there. At the plate he does a very good job of staying balanced throughout his swing. He does a good job activating his lower half and hands with the use of a good load. On the mound, he shows athletic actions and keeps his eyes on target. A 3-pitch pitcher who attacks hitters with a FB that sits 58-60mph with some movement. He mixes in a 10/4 shaped slider and a developing changeup. With 4 years of continued growth and development, we foresee Cayden making huge strides on the baseball field.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
