06/22/2013 - Omaha National World Series - Session 2 Chandler continues to show improvements in his baseball abilities. Foot speed has improved as he ran his best 60 time to date, now an outstanding runner at 6.88. He utilizes his quick, athletic feet well in his lateral movements, displaying range in the MIF. Actions are loose, easy and display soft / clean hands. For defensive grade to continue to improve, he needs to present glove more out front. At the plate, he shows a balanced setup. Hands are quick, flashing bat speed through a level swing path. He makes consistent contact with power grades improving as he learns to use his lower half more. Mental makeup is a plus has he plays with a lot of energy and has a positive attitude.

02/18/2013 - College PREP - Warwick, RI Chandler is a talented SS who moves well in the INF. Defensively, he presents his glove and fields with soft hands. Chandler moves well to his glove side and plays through the ball smoothly. He give good double-play feeds and makes accurate throws across the diamond. Continuing to improve his footwork and increase his range will only benefit him at the SS position. As a hitter, Debrosse displays a square stance and gets into a solid loaded position, keeping his weight back. He remains patient and has the ability to take the pitch on the outer half the other way. He gets good extension through contact and uses his lower 1/2 well. Working on his rhythm and timing will help him to increase his power. Chandler has skills and still has a few years to continue and develop his game.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
