11/08/2012 - Baseball Factory Training & Competition at Pirate City CJ is a strong/mature/athletically built player that has some promising ability. The outfielder plays through balls well with active footwork. His throws have carry and he stays on top of the ball creating good directional rotation. Mechanically, he could improve his footwork, to make it more efficient and fluid. Offensively, he has a good setup, is strong, and gets the barrel through the zone with quick hands. When he learns to utilize his lower-half fully and in rhythm with his hands, he will be a force at the plate. CJ also had a 2 inning outing on the mound. He threw two pitches for strikes, with his fastball hitting 80 MPH with some arm side run. He also threw a slurve that sat around 69-71 MPH. He needs some mechanical work, but he had decent arm action and control. Overall, CJ was one of the top performers at the camp. He is a hard worker with natural ability, and should have a solid college career in the outfield with continued work.
