06/09/2010 - Under Armour Southeast Regional Tournament - 2010 Chuck is a two-way player on the mound and in the OF with a slender frame that shows projection as he continues to physically mature. Currently, he projects best on the mound for the next level. Delivery is sound displays plus mechanics that allows his arm action to work loose, free, and quickly away from his body. Fastball shows a range of 80-82 mph with run on a downhill plane. Breaking ball displays 1/7 shae with tight spin, flashing potential to be a quality pitch as the next level. Changeup shows feel for. He attacks hitters throwing strikes with all his pitches, changing speeds well. In the OF, he takes proper routes / angles in tracking down balls as he works to get behind, playing through with momentum to target. Offensively, Lamar makes consistent contact but has some mechanical flaws that are hindering him from reaching full potential with grades improving quickly with instruction and adjustments. Chuck as a lot of potential and will get looks from the collegiate coaches in need of a LHP.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
