10/06/2021 - Official College Recruiting Membership - Columbia, MD Charlie is an athletic RHP who graduate in 2024. On the mound, he works to a controlled balance point, has smooth separation and fires from a clean/loose arm action. He gets strong glove-side lead and stays directional toward the dish. FB ranges from 71-72 mph. Breaking ball shows 10/4 shape with gradual break. He maintains arm speed on his changeup with slight sink. Slider is harder with tight spin. Stock on the mound will continue to improve as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program. At the plate, he shows a squared setup. Hands are quick and work through an aggressive swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields through a line drive approach. Power will increase as he utilizes his lower half more efficiently. With 3 years to further develop, Charlie has potential with time and room to progress his game.

11/03/2018 - College Recruiting Day - Ellicott City, MD Charlie is an OF prospect who will graduate in 2024. In the field, Charlie shows efficient footwork and flashes the ability to finish plays. He gets into an athletic position and fields the ball out in front. He makes a clean exchange and gains momentum well on his throws, keeping them accurate to his target. At the plate, this RHH sets up in a relaxed stance and takes a square stride. He shows good rhythm in his load and takes a short swing to the ball, leading to consistent contact. Overall abilities can improve with work on the following.

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
