12/27/2019 - Baseball Factory West Coast Winter Classic (Ages 12-14)
Chase is an athletic and talented 2-way prospect that was eager to learn. At the hot corner, Chase is on time with his prep step, he presents a low/early glove, and has a good first step to the ball. He has good feeds on double plays and he makes accurate throws from multiple arm angles. He needs to continue to improve his angles to the ball and play through his backhand. At the plate, Chase starts in an open and tall stance. He has good rhythm, he attacks the inside part of the ball, and he hits off a firm front side. He needs to continue to stay back on the ball and create backside drive with his lower half. On the bump, Chase gathers over the rubber, he separates on time, and rides his back leg toward the plate. He throws his fastball for strikes but needs to repeat his down hill delivery. Chase will continue to improve with experience and we hope to see his progress in the future.
