06/13/2012 - 2012 Team One Florida Showcase Chase is a solid 1st baseman / RHP who will graduate in 2013. Defensively, Chase has has playable hands and feet and he keeps the ball in front of his body. He makes plays, has good awareness of the bag, and he throws with accuracy to his target. Chase can improve defensively by fielding the ball out in front of his body. On the mound, Chase has solid balance, a still head, and his FB touched 78 MPH. He is around the plate with his pitches and pitches to contact. Mound effectiveness can improve if Chase can loosen his arm action and finish off his pitches better. At the plate, Chase has a solid / athletic approach, a loose swing, and he works the middle of the field. He can work the ball gap to gap and his nice pop in his bat.

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
